From now on, dental and palate impressions at our dental practice in Düsseldorf are taken with a so-called intraoral scanner. In this state-of-the-art intraoral scanning procedure, the patient's teeth are scanned contact-free with a laser. This makes it possible to create a highly accurate, three-dimensional model of the teeth – entirely without silicones or impression material!
Precise fitting of implants, crowns, veneers or partial dentures is essential, particularly for producing dental prosthetics, as this is the only way to restore the function of the teeth.
"By digitising this procedure, we not only spare patients the unpleasant sensation of having an impression taken with impression material, but also speed up the processes within our practice!" says dentist Dr. Pantas.
Particularly for patients who struggle with a strong gag reflex, digital intraoral impressions make the process of taking an impression more comfortable.
